Mel's TN ....Bizarrely aromatic. Like very ripe plums on a windowsill. Very oaky taste, and althoughy it says they’re French there’s a vanilla/popcorn flavour, and some very plain chocolate.
INMHO, this is a laying down wine, and should come good in the end - 4 years ? not sure.

If it must be WR, the Calvert Reserve Merlot and Cab effort is quite good on the 2009 vintage for £6.49. It must be 2009 though.

There is a Nicholas Potel chardonnay, Bourgogne 2009 in Majestic, unoaked, light and fragrant, but with a nice core, that I thought was of a reasonable standard - offer £5.99 I think.

Yes, I have tried that Nic Potel on the tasting table some time ago. The staff were raving about it.

It could have been a little too chilled but I though it a little dull compared to other 09 chard's at the time (Those Jadot Macon's for instance) although as you say a nice core in a lighter style. I don't think it was on offer at the time, though, and the offer price is good value.
