Waitrose customer asked my opinion for a wine to go with Smoked Salmon (fine) and piccalilli (arghhh).
Offered an opinion which seemed to be poo-pooed. Customer called over wine staff who, unaware of my involvement suggested the exact same wine.
Dix points...

Does anyone drink a white with piccalilly ? Specially the commercial stuff - Who gets all the best jobs ?

Ba, I'd stick with the day job.

BTW - what did you rec'mend for Piccadilly, then ?

Your fave - Domaine Félines Picpoul de Pinet 2010 Languedoc !

Course not, though that might actually work for anyone who would contemplate eating salmon, and that curried pickled willy.
There are 10 points up for grabs to match mine and the WR expert's choice.

Racy young chablis - for the Smoked Salmon

Blue Nun / Mateus Rose' / sweetest Black Tower they've got - for the piccalliliy.

That's it, give up.
