Prices are creeping up.

In Morrisons this morning- Montes Alpha Cab, £11.79

A well made wine, not my style, a cheerless and solemn Cab, not what I want when I look to Chile but I know it has a following. I remember when this was £7.99 standard price, and it wasnt that long ago.

Montes Alpha Cab, £8.82 in Tesco, at the moment on offer. I'm tending to agree though, I'm getting older, I dont chew biltong anymore......I don't need a monster onslaught on my digestive system  .

In a perfect world, in your dreams......Give me mature & ripe as well as elegant Cote d'Or pinot noir. Yeah, I'm drinking less at the moment.

Ha ha - It has never been more important than to shop around, full retail prices will be swapped around week-in and week-out, to catch you on your unawares. It is hard out there, Dixon's fall in profits has been a summary warning for retailers reporting later on this year, and for shareholders, who are now holding on to their hats.

We have become a nation of shopkeepers, and bit-part landlords, so it's all going to end in tears again, sometime around 2020.

Students are revolting, and now the lower paid professionals responsible for our services are demonstrating. The Libian debacle has distracted us from the pain that must surely follow.

Me - I must keep shouldering the wheel. I enjoy my wines.

Upbeat folks - please come here with shed loads of cheer. Thanks.

I've just had a great bargain. Wanted a spare visor and found it to be £25 (the helmet was only 40). Looked around the net and found it at £15 + d/y. Further rooting popped up a helmet deal which was unbelievable. I searched elsewhere for this model (same make as mine but several rungs up) and it was £69 + d/y.
I ordered it from the bargain site at £19 with free d/y. I then received a string of e-mails telling me that it had been picked, left the w/h, arrived at Brum hub, arrived at local depot, would arrive between 15.20 & 16.20. It arrived (60hrs after ordering) at 16.00 - the driver apologised for being 10 mins late.
Enclosed was a £15 off voucher for travlelodge.
Wow.

Having the week off next week, I am considering to go across the Channel.
Any of you folks have any tips for wine buying in the Calais area (NOT supermarkets). Years ago I found a small wine shop in the Cité d'Europe centre, lower floor near the restaurants, with an amazing choice. Any hints and weblinks (I do master the frog language) are welcome !
Merci beaucoup d'avance ! :D

I used to go to Adenkirke for baccy and Eastenders (Calais) for booze, but I gather they're closed down. There were several others on the same ZI (Marcel Doret).
