At least one company has some principles then...

Oi....the mother in law plays bridge and drinks crap wine. Any more abuse and i'll send her over to Bacchus Towers for Easter.

You won't know what's hit you.

No. Majestic have both the 19 and the 06. When you order you could get either but as yet i've only had the 19 on this vintage.

It'll do for me though.

Only the Clos d'Yvigne (Princesse) which I have posted on the site. Have just taken 2 of it's other offering (Cuvee Nicolas) which is a quid more and has some good reviews.

Ocado Offer:

I'm thinking of capitalising on these upscale JE offers. Both wines good for laying up as well. Terse Co. have moved them up to their ring fenced fine wine range, so we won't see proper offers for these, from them in the near'ish future !

Grey Goose '09

Vintage Widow '08

However, I need some help from you guys, before shelling out some.

Mr ~.g.~ GG on the '09 Have you sampled this lightly oaked MSB yet ? 90 points from Bob C.

Shez, GK, Tribs ......Have either of you tried this '08 MPN yet ? 93 points from Bob C. who states that JE made a bench mark fist of the '08 vintage at this price level. Everything else PN in the points, is much bigger money.

Shez, GK, Tribs - a pair of better gluggers for me on this dozen.....so..Q. - What is the Katnook all about ? Please

Cheers for this link Shez

Katnook Coonawarra has a good rep though I've not been there.

Duncan,

The Vintage Widow looks interesting. I am tempted, but I am trying to resist all wine purchases for the time being. I need to make a dent in my stocks.

The Katnook is highly rated by Shez and GK. Although I'm sure Shez said he was disappointed with his last bottle. I found them rather dry and tannic and hard work with little sweet fruit to balance. Definitely very complex but need a good while to sleep in my mind. I have 07 and 08 vintages but think we may actually be on 09 now. we had 06 little more than 6 months ago if I recall correctly :? .

Eh ?....What's this Goose, a delivery protest !

Cheers Goose and tribs. I may reduce my outlay and just take 3 of each.

The offer is pretty tempting for me, I don't know either of these wines and SCPB is rarely discounted. Shez said the '05 vintage widow was particularly satisfying.

My stocks are good, but I'm constantly dipping in, which is even better.

The things one learns here.
Whilst checking up on Grey Goose and Vintage Widow I came across Emperor Gum PN. Checking up on that led me to Opodiphthera Eucalyptus, the Gum Emperor moth of Oz and NZ...

Dunc, I took was looking at Grey Ghost and Vintage widow

As I mentioned to you the 05 was very enjoyable and that only receivedd mediocre scores from Bob (tho I don't think I agree with his prefernces on PN)
Kicking myself that I diddn't enquire whether they had any more out back as I assume it was a solitary bottle but I managed to swipe the last 06 they had (I asked this time) for 9.99 again at the weekend
that's staying on the rack a while along with the 07 I picked up a year or 2 back

I'd personally advise against the Founders Block, was a little underwhelmed by it myself but each to their own

Shelmerdine and John X Merriman Rustenberg are both well worth thinking about as ~£9 bottles

Have both the 08 and 09 Shelmerdine at home andd think it is a decent expression of NW PN
Have a bottle of the Rustenberg to try but Tribs reviewed it well here and sounds like it should be to your liking by his TN

would have also suggested you try Richard's Enira Bulgarian blend but it looks to have sold out.
There not any French gems you can point out for us?

Ocado doz. arrived as per advisory e-mail. Very pleasant driver.
Matching the title of this thread, they came in 5 cardboard carriers, each designed for 4 bottles. Each of those 5 was in it's own largish carrier bag. :?
