Waipara Hills Southern Crossings Pinot Noir 2008
currently on offer at Sainsburys at £9.99 (from 12.99)

Shezz, If sains have left the Waipara offer on for a day or 2, are you in there for £7.50 a bottle ?

It does happen, I remember the M. Chapoutier Côtes du Roussillon '07 for £5.24. :)

FAO Tribs, GK & Duncan,

Dow Trademark Finest Reserve is half price right now down to £6.63 so with additional 25% off works out about a fiver

Bought one of these along with 3x Malbec, 1x Yering Station and 1x Yali 3 lagoons

Appreciate any White recommendations for next visit

Kiwi good value permanently.
Sacred Hill, Starborough, Maipo GR and Makutu SBs all very differenet but all acceptable when on offer. Keep away from Blason. Couple of Fairtrades do well.

The JM Brocard 1er chablis '08 works out at £10.50 - But Brocard's chablis sees no oak, so not as interesting for you Shezz.

The Cloudy Bay MSB works out at £13.50 if interested, it needs to be the '09

There just might be a few Peter Lehmann Semillon '08 Barossa, check.

When I was last in there during a Christmas promo, I bought 2 Mersault '08 for £11.99 each, as this store had knocked £4 off the bottle price - You could ckeck out the fine wine rack. Also ckeck out the fine wine rack for any Clifford Bay VM MSB that has already been marked down a bit.

That is my 2 cents.

I will score some Bonpas 09, for my house Rhone. The '09 not as good as the '07, but already tried and accepted.

It's until 1st March. Mind you, that's sooner than you think.

Clifford Bay 2010 is on the shelf for £13.99 so can be picked up for £10.50 but not sure whetherr I will for now.
I've sampled 2 of my Cliffords so far (not taken a note yet) but for some reason didn't gain as much pleasure fromm it as I did the 07 (and for me early 2008) JE or 09 Vav.
Maybe needs to wait a little longer

maybe only the Chablis available on the rest Dunc's list but all on Ba's were there

Looked at the Kiwi cuvee along with the La Grille oaked Chenin

Also had a Vermentino (Villa dei Bichi) going 2 for £10. Not a grape I've sampled.. anyone ?

Commonly thought to be Spanish in origin. Although it is currently grown in several countries around the Mediterranean, its best known examples come from northern Italy (particularly in the region of Liguria) and the island of Sardinia, where the wines are crisp, citrusy and generally unoaked. It is also the most widely planted white grape on the island of Corsica, where high altitude and hot climate vineyards produce more full-bodied wines with heady floral aromas. On the French mainland (where the grape is known as Rolle), it is found in Côtes de Provence and, increasingly, in Languedoc. Although it makes excellent wine, for many years Vermentino was best known for producing table grapes.

Vermentino wines are a pale straw color and relatively low in alcohol, with crisp acids, citrus-leaf aromatics, and pronounced minerality. In the mouth, Vermentino shows flavors of green apple and lime, heightened by refreshing acidity, good richness and medium body. The wine’s crispness makes it a delicious accompaniment to fresh seafood, oysters on the half shell, or grilled Mediterranean vegetables.

Don't bother with the Vina Maipo. It is often "half price" so wait for that.
