 Please could you add some sort of guide as to the type of wine, did I miss it?? I just like dry flinty whites, love Sancerre but it's so expensive for just downing after a hard day at work, you know, get in, open fridge, pour wine, then think about food and the rest of the evening......we all have those days.

if you tailor your search to Sauvignon Blanc (the same grape as Sancerre) and France (so you get the same sort of style) and a price range (i put under ?6, but that was just a guess) you get 5 wines, 4 of which are from Majestic. you might want to further search South Africa, if you like the dry style.

have a glance through the previous columns - i did South African Sauvignon recently. i'm doing Sauvignon de Touraine after Christmas, which i suppose is poor (or sensible) man's Sancerre. you could type Touraine into the box on the front page.

give me an idea of a few wines that you do like and i'll try to give you some more suggestions.

good idea about my giving an indication of style. will put it on my ideas list. thanks.
