Tesco have some good champagne offers and they are selling Nicholas Feuliiatte Brut NV at £13.29. per bottle, which I think is an excellent fizz. You can also get free delivery and £10 off ordering online, (must order 6 bottles). and if you are a new customer. You will need voucher code at :- www.winesdirect.co.uk/champagne/aspx.

Thanks for that, but where did you see NF champagne at £10. I've phoned 3 ASDA stores in my area and the nearest one at High Wycombe, had never heard of it. The other 2 have no stock.

There was a mis-pricing at Asda a few years ago. Champagne at £5. I believe they cancelled all the online orders, but quite a lot were grabbed in the shops.

I haven’t seen it myself but that’s because I haven’t looked, I don’t drink fizz, I read about it a couple of days ago on the wine-pages forum, they were discussing it there.

Good luck.

Did Asda do a 25% disco Camp. ?

Saw the Nic Foil-At shampoo in our Panthéon catch all Tesco last night and thought - Ok, this could be possible £13.99 x 75% = £10.49. Perhaps a limit of a pair on one transaction - I don't know, have not observed Asda marketing campaigns.

I did make a real blunder during the big T 25% campaign though ! Inertia again, I found a few of the wine that I had earmarked, covered in dust and on the right vintage. Whether it has been cooked in store is a risk one takes ? It was very low at the bottom of the fine wine rack and on the back wall of the store....so not such a risk. There is, and still has old stock in there - nice stuff actually.

Could not find any '07 Grey Ghost, I looked thru the whole lot in that section, all '08 from JE.

Antoine de .....Producer, vins clairs

I know the lifeboat has gone out, but there's no need to go completely over the top !

During the 7 day Clairs War, coloqially known as:- The War of Sergeant Lawrence's Ear, which raged from 28th November to 4th December 2006, an Andre Carpenter grenade could be requisitioned from the quarter master's stores for seven hundred and forty nine pence.

can you translate that ino the vernacular please

1)You called up the lifeboat
2) You pushed the boat out for a Champers - Rare stuff for you at £14 !
3) Sergeant Lawrence, aka Ba
4) The best price for chamapagne in the last ten years or rather more I think was £7.49
5) The most FIERCE champagne War between Sainsbury's and Tesco occured during the week ended 4th December 2006
6) The War of Captain Jenkins Ear (relates to Robert Jenkins, captain of a British merchant ship, who exhibited his severed ear in Parliament following the boarding of his vessel by Spanish coast guards in 1731.
7) Vins Clairs is the correct vernacular for the champagne wine industry in France

Ba....Surely I don't need to Go On with this ?

What has all this spurious information got to do with champagne offers at Tesco- that's what I would like explained. Has ANYONE heard of any good offers currently available as I missed out on the Nicolas F at Tesco, while chasing the mysterious £10 per bottle at ASDA, which was non-existent.

Morrisons have some half price champagne offers. See thread within Wine Talk from last week.

A spurious jibe that went flat. Sorry about that Loft. Ok, you have not actually missed a Tesco champagne offer because the Nicolas Fuellatte champagne was NOT available at £13.99 (less 5% if six other wines bought) during the extra 20% for six campaign that ended 2 days before. So you may buy that marque today ** if you like at the best offer price at Tesco. I speculate that The Champagne price war may start hotting up as we move to Christmas. Hence the historic note about a champagne that got to a low of £7.49 net, during a 7 day 25% disco period

I put a link up from Tom Cannavan's TN's about the Nic F. so that buyers could assess whether it is for them, he liked the style. We've had no actual sightings from the Team here about the Asda one for a tenner.

I am very sorry, if you've been driving around the stores looking.

You may want to have a look at Majestic's offer. I've tried some of them, and if you want to pop a question, I'll let you know what I thought. The Lanson black label at Morrissons is also a champagne that I rate, because it has a good depth of flavour as well as a classic style. Sainsbury's offered this Lanson Black Label for £15 last year, but in the week, and a fortnight before Christmas.

Hope that helps.

** I'm getting a Polite Nudge from Tribs that the NF shampoo offer at Tesco finished on Sunday ?? Thanks Tribs :) it's all moving fast in the run up to Crimble
