had another look in my "mega" Sains the other day.
Found myself more interested by the ale aisle than the wine.

c'mon Sainsbury's sort it out ! other than Clos de l'Oratoire des Papes CndP (which is to price and 2008 vintage) they have nothing but the mass mkt kak.Along with WR, Maj with it's Oz, NZ, Chile & Rhone all on offer will have my biz for now

Yep, it's a sad day when you cant find anything particularly interesting in Sains at all. I was quite happy to up my bottle anti, as I walked in. But ended up just picking 6 CdR's, cos '07, I was content though.

The MSB choice in there was shocking. The've gone all Hardy's bloody Crest for reds - why ?

The one half decent Haut Medoc - Chateau Barreyres 2007 cru bourgeois, this Medoc vintage does nothing for me - always seems flat.

So - on to Maj for drinking stock - and maybe a special or three :)

There is a TN from me on the '07 Perrin et Fils villages - bought from Tony Laithy - I was impressed.

Yes, I've just found it. A star no less. Pleased with that. It was a store reccomendation - I needed a 4th 07 Rhone and they suggested this one. :D

I did get to Sains. Got 2 Chapoutier Rousillon(This is Tain too), 2 Tain Crozes, 1 Kanonkop Kadette and that Berg 09. All for £30. Was hoping to find that Sancerre, but no luck.

The Maj Tain Crozes is a lesser wine. The WR Hauts de Pavieres has been selected from the best fruit and it shows. That "potential" flavour is missing in the Maj offering. Disappointing. Not a bad wine, but shows just how good the WR one is.

I've still got a couple of M&S '07 Tain CrH.

Yep Paul, I looked, the Sancerre and the right chablis was pulled in the Dorset store. They were frantically re- stocking the shelves when closing with bulk tat with marketing names I'd never really heard of before.

** Tribs - Thanks for the tip-off. My local bijou waitress is 800 yds walking from here. So on the way back from the Bank, dropped by and checked every bottle on the shelf.

There was just one '07 hiding right at the back - Auto TRF to basket, carefully put all the bottles back in their slot, and progressed to cheese counter.
Offer finishes tonight
