Have you seen this?

It got me thinking, would you eat out in restaurants more often if you were allowed to take your own wine? (without charge or having to pay to join a club).

So, GK we agree. 2 votes cast. I'd love to choose my own wine and just pay corkage. However, you'd need to know, broadly, what you were going to choose to eat. I suppose if Waitrose was round the corner you could come with a bottle of chilled white and pop out once you'd ordered food.

True, but there are a number of wines that would suit most dishes, I dont think one should worry too much, go for and Indian and take a bottle of Riesling, go for Italian and take a bottle of Chianti/ Gavi, etc.

You wont go far wrong.

Aha yes - Might also want to take my own ninos calamares. Am tired of rubber rings.

My long suffering, and very dear Misses is fed-up of my prefering to eat at home.

These days, I can't really afford cuisine that even comes close to my home grown and her cullinary excellence

It is however fool hardy to compare an expensive, yet vaguely affordable restaurant over the quality that can be achieved at a reasonably modest dinner / supper party. We don't charge out our labour and establishment overheads of course !

Shez, you know that you'd always be welcome, an excellent excuse to open something exotic I have a few super ripe and concentrated Nuits St George 1er Cru "Les Poulettes" 2003, that will get you singing for your supper.

You like the voluptuous figure, so this should concentrate your attention for a while.
