Earlier today, I had a piece of meat stuck in my throat. After 20 mins, I was having breathing difficulty and an increased heart-rate. Dialled 999 and nice man came to help. Made me sit, calmed me down, breath slowly etc.
Then came the cure. Ninety-odd % of these cases are solved with a fizzy drink, the fizzyer the better. Ha! out came the Prosecco.

Glad to hear you're still with us B, winemakers the world over are breathing a sigh of relief.

When we were kids, my sister and I were jumping off the shed roof onto the lawn, she leapt off at a funny angle and forgot about the washing line, it caught in her mouth as she descended. We watched in amazement as both her two front teeth flicked out and landed on the patio.

Quite bizarre, and bloody.

Prosecco top doggy today. Tut tut Sir, please take longer chewing your food, you'll get yourself an ulcer dear chap. Many years ago a fish bone gave me some grief, but very near the top, near my tonsills, fortunately my dear Misses could get to it with tweezers. Once is enough.

More importantly:

Many of those paramedic guys are unsung heroes. Glad they were quick to get to your home, traffic can be a nightmare for these guys.

When you can dial 999 for Paramedics, Firemen and RLNI seamen, you know that for you, you're being looked after by some of the best folks in this good ole country of ours.

Imagine if you'd snuffed it. We'd never know.

We'd pine away and the forum would be disbanded.

Hooray for ambulance men.
