I read recently that LVMH are now producing well over 100,000 cases (>1.2m bottles) of Cloudy Bay per vintage.

Not exactly in short supply. Style over substance?

£18 average? Is this wine worth it? I doubt it.

No it isn't.

Kevin Judd who made the original CB is now off making Greywacke which sells for about a fiver less.

It's getting better ratings too.

If I was going to pay £18 i'd want Saint Clair's Wairau Reserve or Villa Maria Clifford Bay if it was back to how it was in 07.

Or even JE 07

My Cloudy Bay experience was somewhat disappointing even though I hadn't forked out for it. At £9 or 10 then fine but some are charging £22...nonsense.

Got three '09 CB's in a 24hour window on 28th December for £13 each. When I last sipped JE 07, in feb on valentines, I'm certain CB'09 will have to perform Oscarwise, to top it.

But then Goose, hindsight ahhh. Old Renwick '09 will have to texturize and acquit itself very well, if it's going to take on VMSC'07 at mealtime.

I have them in stock - but like Shez for the aftermath, don't have any hung-over reversal potions

I've stopped sharing my JE'07 with anyone other than the Misses.
