Won a bottle of this in the local pub quiz...

Hm,,, not in CellarTracker DB -- unusual

Seems this brand is exclusive to Mitchels & Butler, a company that owns a great number of bars, pubs and restaurants under various brand names.

Back label says
Produced by Alberta Wines

No trace on web of Alberta Wines -- but label gives an address
68 Anzac Street, Challora, NSW

which just happens to be the address of HQ of McWilliams Wines - www.mcwilliams.com.au

Label says
Imported by
VSP
13th Floor
Marble Arch Towers,
55 Bryanston St
W1H 7AA

No trace of VSP

There's a serviced office company at Marble Arch Towers but can't find if they are on the 13th Floor

So who is VSP ??

Vina San Pedro or VSP Wine Group.

Big exporter from Sth America, has got its fingers in a few other pies.

Not registered at Companies House - that VSP office is a company secretarial letter box

Gawd blimey........this is a bit obsessive for a pub wine.

I don't know about the quality of Australian pub Shiraz but if it's anything like Australian pub chardonnay the thing to do if you're unfortunate enough to win one is open - take sip - swear loudly - spit -pour rest of bottle down sink - wait until dark and put empty bottle in neighbours bottle bin.

I saw Sherlock Holmes this evening. Very good, loved the recreation of old London. Must of cost millions to set up the dock scenes

Right grape -- wrong winery, country and continent.

Long Shadow is used by wineries in several states
