Online wine retailer Virgin Wines has teamed up with LOVEFiLM, the UK’s leading online DVD rental and entertainment site, to offer their customers an exciting range of discounts off wine.

The two companies have formed an exclusive Partnership, which will see an array of specially tailored wine offers communicated via LOVEFiLM’s envelopes and inserts, email newsletters and on its website.

Jay Wright, Managing Director of Virgin Wines said of the Partnership: “Virgin Wines and LOVEFiLM have great synergy. Both companies share a similar customer demographic and offer products that really complement one another. This is a very exciting partnership, which we look forward to developing over time.”

Dionne Georgiou, Media Sales Team Manager at LOVEFiLM added: “With staying in the new going out, what better way to reward our customers than with an exciting wine offer that they can enjoy while watching their DVD.”

LOVEFiLM customers who take advantage of the special offers will be able to enjoy savings of up to £60 off of a case of boutique quality wine, whilst gaining free membership of Virgin Wines’ Discovery Wine Club.

Free? How lucky they are: signed up to a commitment to buy a case of wine every quarter....

How much does membership usually cost?

Its usually more than free, they give you £40 off the first case when you join. (or is that their winebank plan?)

Anyway, Ive struggled to find anything on Virgin Wines website that excites, what there is seems overpriced to me. Ive had a £40 credit sitting on my account for several months, I have no plans to use it.

The only good thing about Virgin Wine is that they allow their predominantly dissatisfied customers the chance to slag them off online. The wines are also hyped to absurd levels by people who assume their customers to be complete and utter morons.

Comments along the lines of...." Uruguay is the new Marlborough and we got in first especially for you as we knew that you'd just love this wine which combines the grassy flavours of NZ with all the minerality of the Loire and at only a fraction of the price TRUST US £12.99 is a bargain "...are standard.

Tacky company run by tacky people.

Grrrrrr

I had a full refund on my one-and-only case, back onto the card, not a voucher.
