I know they had some GG in Vinopolis Maj before it shut down so I guess there's some in the system. Not sure which vintage it was though

I'm usually in Maj for at least half an hour but that is usually just me having a look around
They have bottles open for tasting but never anything of a great standard from my experience so far.
Does your one open some decent stuff "that we've kept aside just for when Mr Parish turns up" ? ;)

Yes, I went through the Te Koko on xmas day. Only my mum joined my in having some (didn't find me complaining)
Think I did a quick basic tasting note on it just after Christmas.
I very much enjoyed it and think even though its an 05 it still has a while left in it.
Think it wouldn't be everyone's cup of tea but every review I have read on it has said the same.
Fortunately it was just my cup of tea !

Yep, I particularly like Assam twig as well.

Gordon's show, particulary in remote NE India is the very best ever TV show from him - A revelation for old world tribal life style, ownership of the lands, and cuisine in deepest Assam in the North East and also in the North West..... Fed-up with some celebs on the F word.

Cheers for tip about GG in central London, also We do a Drystone TN over the week-end - or U going to pull corks when you get in -:D

As tempting as it is, the Drystone is staying in the bottle for tonight (I even took delivery of 2 Spiegelau Burgundy (PN) glasses today so temptation is there even moreso)
will be one for the weekend. Perhaps tomorrow night as I'm in looking after the girls while Mrs Shez is out

Was like a kid in a sweetshop at maj today.
A few examples of bottles I had my eye on as well as the Drystone:
-08 Mt difficulty Roaring Meg CO PN: 17.49/13.99 when bought with another NZ wine (we know 08 is a good vintage for CO after our recent research)
-07 Craggy Range Slucings vineyard CO PN: 15.99/12.79 with another NZ
-St Hallett Cab Sav 08 (thing it was their Faith range): 10.99 no offer
-Erruzuriz wild ferment PN 08: 9.99/8.49

There were a few more but don't recall them at the moment
Fortunately I managed to walk away with just a magnum of Pitray 05 thrown in on top of the Drystone order.

They had GG there but 2008 vintage I'm afraid.
There were 2 Bottles left at 17.99 for a single or 14.39 each when bought with another NZ wine (they also had one bottle of 07 Vintage widow PN) at the same price
Good luck hunting down 07 vintage
Might be worth looking into Tescos too 14.55 on line for 6

Had The Roaring Meg right in my sights, the 08 is two quid more retail now. Must get to these Otego PN's

You're no fool, I 1st bought that Castillon in France B4 Majestic made it a fave. The 03 was lush and not expensive. Avoid '04 and '07. The French know an affordable left bank, but Castillon does not figure here, because you cant stock the Universe with one interesting one and then change about, oh no, that's too difficult for the S'mashers - Only Yvonn Mau mixed up stuff comes in 50,000 gallon tanks - Duh.

FN it is.

FN???

I too have had the 2003 pitray and was a nice drop iirc so thought can't go wrong with the 2005
Its sales have been bolstered I think by Bob Parker saying he enjoys it as one of everyday cheapies
single bottles are 8.99/7.99. The mag was 14.99 so worked out a whole pound cheaper!!! :)
