Good idea started by the frozen goose elsewhere. Was getting well off subject so am starting a new thread.
Bristol shopping centre was rebuilt in my childhood after WWII bomb damage. Rebuilt again very recently at a cost of "billions" of wine tokens. Never been there, never will. Also out-of-town megacrapolis at Cribb's Causeway.
I have a multitude of major s/mkts from which to choose plus 2 Maj, Avery's only shop, Oddbins, one Nicolas (never tried it) and a couple (still) independant decent merchants. Spoilt I suppose.

I have WR, Tesco and Sains within 1/2 mile of here. Independents in Stroud and Nailsworth (4 miles) and Home Bargains. Plus the internet.

I have access to all the supermarkets, one independent and the Internet. Plus a couple of Threshers, for now.

My nearest Maj & Oddbins are a good half hour drive away but I recently learnt that Maj now deliver in my area, I will be looking to place my first mixed case order with them soon.

Bijou Waitrose for local shopping - nice, Maj just across the river. Tesco Extra and a Mega Sava Centre (Sains) is well out of town. Small Sains in old part of Reading Town which has odd clearance leftovers, Marks in old Town centre. Morrisons (ex Safeway) 4 miles or so, Aldi nearly 5 miles.

Internet and online merchants. Oddbins a long way off in Oxford or Windsor.

I noted last night that Nicolas has closed down. I think it was a Victoria wine originally.

Nicolas closed down

Hooray. Dreadful place. Full of overpriced French tat that only a tourist in Calais would buy.

Bought 6 at Marks today on the 25% off.

3x Gard rose
1x Bluff Hill blanc de blancs ( really seductive bottle )
1x Cailbourdin Pouilly Fume. The 13.99 one not the new £25 jobbie.
1x 2010 Seifried Nelson Estate NZ sauvignon blanc.

Yeh. the Bluff is a cracking bottle. Very tactile.
