More typical than the Gobelsburger. Celery salt smell. Slight prickle. Textured, phenolic, with celery salt finish.

This is the one that I got last w/e but 2008. Pleasant enough, and "celery salt" is excellent (I couldn't put a name to it). Overall a wee bit wimpy for me, but will try it again sometime.

Yes, VG doesn't really do it for me. I can assess it but don't really get much enjoyment out of it. Not sure I'd buy it, unless for a specific dish.

I like GV very much, but I do have a soft spot for Austria having visited and enjoyed local GV wines.

I picked up a bottle of Domäne Wachau Grüner Veltliner “Terraces” '08 in Waitrose at the weekend, am looking forward to opening this soon.

WR have two Wachau GVs at the moment. One on offer at £5.69 and one at £15+. Neither mention "terrace". Have you downed this yet GK?

Never tried a MooseBurger but have the "Terraces" in vitro.
Certainly the best (of 3 or 4) GVs of which I have partaken but still does not grab me. Some steel, some grapefruit, a hint of white pepper. Nice enough, pleasant even, but I shan't be buying a case.
