60% Pinot Noir and 40% Gamay (to add smoothness in high-acid vintage). Pinot Noir is from vineyards in the Côte d'Or and Mâconnais whilst the Gamay hails from a variety of different Beaujolais crus. The grapes were hand-picked, de-stemmed and crushed. Fermented in stainless steel vats with controlled temperature for 10-14 days. 25% of the wine is matured in new oak barrels. Winemaker Jean Luppatelli.

Very little smell. Young in the mouth. Low tannin red wine with fresh acidity and no more.
Alc 12.5%, TA 5.6g/l, pH 3.58, RS 2g/l. Available from Wine Direct and 192 branches.

The extended Bouchard family make many wines in many places. The best of them heading into the stratosphere. Spotted this one on offer in a different retailer and gave it a go. Nice enough, gentle and flavoursome but I did expect a little more oomph. If you want a non-intrusive bit-better quality swigger then (on offer) this could be your man.
