40% Malbec, 30% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Sauvignon from Norton vineyards in Finca Colonia, Lunlunta and Agrelo, at altitudes between 850-1,100m. 50 year-old vines, planted at 4,500/ha, and grapes hand-sorted at harvest. Cold macerated, with traditional fermentation using indigenous yeast. Post-ferment maceration for 25-30 days. 16 months new French barrel ageing, then a further 12 months in bottle prior to release. Rich, fruity aroma. Very richly, darkly fruity. The Malbec leads but is freshened up by the Cabernet. A good blend. Alc 14.5%, TA 4.98g/l, pH 3.6. Available from Wine Direct and 1 branch. 15/10/2008
