 The grapes were separated from the bunches before being crushed and extraction techniques and pumping over ensured that the finest elements were extracted. This Vacqueyras is produced from a blend of Grenache, which gives the wine power and elegance, Syrah with its aromatic pallet and Mourvèdre which gives the wine complexity and delicateness  Long maceration - 3 to 4 weeks Oak/lees treatment: 10% to 15% oaked
 Bentonite Matured for 9 months, partly in cask to obtain the required structure, partly in larger barrels to allow the aromas to develop.
 
 In the 1950s a winery established since 1898, built ageing cellars in the Saint-Pierre area of the village. The new cellars' first wines were given the name Caves Saint-Pierre. Over the years all aspects of the wine making process have been perfected and Cave Saint-Pierre is now famed for its top quality Rhone wines Preference Vacqueyras is a perfect example of this, the consistent quality of this wine shines through and has won three silver medals in this years competitions: IWC; IWSC: Best in Class; Decanter.
 
 Slightly minty on the nose, with some violet.  Rustic and violet scented.  Not bad but needs food.
