Made for Tesco by Doms Bourillon Dorléans. 24 grams/litre residual sugar. A third of the Chenin vines which produce the grapes for the Tesco Finest Vouvray are old vines ( over forty years old) and the rest between ten and thirty years. The Bourillon Dorléans estate was founded in 1921 by Gaston Dorléans and covers 25 hectares of vines on the best slopes of the Coteaux de Rochecorbon and Vouvray. For the last three generations, the Bourillon Dorléans family members have dedicated themselves to carrying on the traditional approach and the quality of the highly characteristic Vouvray wines which are still matured at optimum temperature in the 15th century troglodyte caves. Almost no aroma – just a hint of damp wool. A bit rotty. Sweet, at 24 grams/litre and lacks beauty or much interest. Moderately typical, I suppose. 12% (598 stores) 27/06/08
