Chaps,

Just bought 2 cases of the Champagne with free delivery.

if you are prepared to buy from The Evil Empire.
Tesco finest Premier Cru Champagne Brut 75cl is reduced to £12.99 a bottle. There is then an extra 20% off if you buy 2 x 6 btl cases and an extra £30 off if you enter the code XXPLY7 at checkout.
Brings it in at £7.89 per bottle.

Got some ok/good reviews will do for summer afternoons i guess.

Richard, This 1er champagne receives a decent review from me. I bought 3 to top up my stocks in the last round of offers, and got the price down to £11.99 in store. £7.89 is exceptional. I did not know about the online code - that's pretty useful - does it work on a case of six ?
This champagne is fashionably rather dry, category 1, so serve appropriately with close friends, rather than in bulk at that price ! To avoid an over astringent feel on the palate by the 2nd or 3rd refill. My eldest and my Misses found it rather dry. I have been training their palates, so for general 'Party-time folks' at this price, this stuff can flow very freely, Yeah :)

For those who are buying in store, the deal is 20% off all *Finest if you buy three or more bottles. Which is pretty useful if you want to mix and match. Their 1994 finest 'Symingtons' vintage Port would be £16 if you added a bottle.

A good deal that stood out for me today is their *Finest Gigondas. I have not had this since the 2010, the '10 was half decent, a good vintage, perhaps a tiny bit burny, but the wine could take it, and the bouquet was right.
Today, I searched for the 2012, and found some at the back of the shelf.
Therefore £12.99 less £3.00 offer to £9.99 less 20% = £7.99 per bottle.
The 2012 is alc 14% so a bit less than their CNdP, here's hoping . . . . . reviews on T's web site are a lot better than average.

The QPR review by AndH who nominates himself a connoisseur is for the 2012 vintage, I checked.

So Richard, midweek southern Rhone quaffers can step up a notch or two.

Cheers

Dunc ,
The offer code only works on the wine site for 2 cases of the finest range.
Mine have just arrived very happy, sister is having 6 so might have another look.
