I bought 2 bottles of the 2009 but both were corked, by the time I’d opened them the 09 had sold out so out of some sort of curious masochistic wine drinking need I exchanged for a 2010. It was recommended by some notable critics.
On opening, the cork looked as though it was starting to bleed out as the other had (are we meant to store vertically perhaps?) but it wasn’t obviously corked. I was consuming within M&S’ recommended 6 month window.
I’ve very rarely thought ‘this wine could do with some oak and more tannins’ but this one really could have...
Clumsy and tiresome. Didn’t even improve with food or giving it a good shake and leaving for a day.
It’s only £6.99 but I’d be disappointed to get given a bottle of this.
So if you have one then you may want to drink it very soon and would make an excellent addition to a Xmas gravy.
