Don't know quite what Mel had in her glass, but this "vielle vignes" is not for me. No fruit, no nuts, no cream. White, harsh, medicinal. Tried at 8 and 13c. No thanks.

Have had two bottles so far and loved both. Didn't drink them alone and other tasters also loved them. Are you turning into a goose?

We enjoyed one of these this afternoon, whilst having a late lunch at a friend's home in north west London.

Really lovely St Veran, stunning with jugged / bottled pork knuckles bought back from France, new potatoes, Dijon mustard and a rocket salad with dried berry fruits. Everybody thought it was a very good wine. We thought the acidity was right and quite adequate in fact (not low at all)

Acidity may vary I suppose. This bottle was spot on.

I'm certain that this is a well made and fine wine. There is some organic enzyme or whatever phenolicking about in both the Chablis and the St.V. that is overpoweringly nasty. Bit like curry I suppose. My loss.
