I bought this at an old Thresher franchise store that had been taken over by a local fine wine merchant.

I can understand why it's well rated. It's dry with a lovely smooth texture. It's on the wrong side of medium bodied for me but that won't worry many here. The flavour though was odd. Like an unidentified tropical fruit. I didn't like it. It reminded me of the Australian See Saw sb/semillon blend at Waitrose which is lighter, sweeter but has the same flavour and very similar to the Marlborough Springs sb at Sainsbury.

I had this in Feb this year. The 2010 could be very different but once bitten..

Uhg - I'm sorry Goose.

Mike was talking about the 2009 vintage. He had not had Tinpot before.

The '08's were weird in many guises. Saint Clair Oh block 6, and VM Clifford Bay was fine (and I still have several of them) but as you know, those were the only '08s that I went out and sought to buy.

You said the VAV '08 was poor. I didn't rate JE Stich '08 particularly, although they made a better fist of the vintage than many.

The Reach '08 was pretty numb, and Corosive Cove was totally naff. The '08 Te Muna was a weakling, much too soft.

So we give Tinpot Hut '09 a go, if it is seen at a reasonable price.

Thanks for the backdated TN though.
