Bergerac mix from Patricia Atkinson, SB, Sem & Muscadelle. Beats me, a riddle wrapped up in an enigma. Nice, pleasant, but it's beyond me to describe. At a fiver I'd say magic, at £7 maybe not.

That sounds nice - a richer and more facetted Entre Deux Mer - probably a lot of bucolic Renault 4's slowing corroding in the dykes. Hmmn.... nice try Mr Ba. The Bergerac reds have a spice dimension, which defies the vocabulary after a few, not found in the kind of Bordeaux superior served-up to long suffering UK claret drinkers

I must 'ave a go. Definitely

That sounds about right Mr. D though the last EdM I had was basic c**p. Now that I think about it there was a little pepperyness in it. Complicated, some depth, but still bright and crisp. Better than Sains Berg. I have a second one which I'll give a few months.

In defense of small and real producer EDM blanc, bottled in chateau, they can be quite nice, with a deft touch of oak also. That EDM probably had the tiny name Yonne Mau on the back - in which case, it would be dead and dire.

Yonne Mau has been death to the reputation of small bordelaise producers - Today only - She should be hung drawn and quartered. Otherwise - just avoid Mau, for heaven's sake

I am given to believe that the Cuvée Nicolas is even better (£8 offer at the mo.)

Cellartracker represents Good old and Inspired new bergerac quite well - considering that the gigantic supermarkets here, completely ignore the wine as a cost saving alternative. Well I've said it before - SORRY.

The Muscadelle in bergy sec gives it a super lift, and counteracts, ok, balances the Sem that can be oily in indifferent years.

CH. Bellingarde Monbazilac is wonderful BTW
