Winemaker and winery: Geo Wines / Alvaro Espinoza. Grape variety: Pedro Ximenez. Region: Elqui Valley, Chile. Viticulture/Vinification: The Elqui Valley is located 500 kilometres north of Santiago bordering desert. Weather conditions are very dry with an annual rainfall of only 60 millimetres, however water coming from the Andes mountain glaciers, makes it a perfect place for growing vines. The soils have very low natural fertility. The grapes were harvested in mid April and fermented in stainless steel tanks at a temperature of 17° Celsius. Availability:297 stores.
Fresh, fruity and appealing nose. Dry and acidic with some interesting savoury notes. Good, if quite sharp. 23/03/10
