Louis Jadot Combe aux Jacques 2010 Beaujolais-Villages, France 9.49
100% hand-harvested Gamay grown on granitic soil in the regions of Lantigné, Lancié and Regnié. In 1998 Louis Jadot opened their

are destemmed and receive a 14 day maceration, the rest undergo semi-carbonic maceration. The blend includes some Regnié village
wine. Winemaker Jacques Lardière. Alc 12.5%, TA 3.3g/l, pH 3.55, RS 0.2g/l. Waitrose Wine Direct and 263 branches.
IWC 2011 Gold Medal Winner.
Not a great deal on the nose. Quite a serious tannic wine, for Beaujolais. Bitter cherry and quite savoury. Not sweet red fruits at all.
Bouchard Père et Fils 2010 Fleurie, Beaujolais, France 10.99
100% Gamay with 75% of the grapes coming from the Domaine du Château de Poncié. Vines are 50 years old and planted on granite
soil, with 10,000vines/ha. The fruit was hand-picked into shallow containers to avoid crushing and sorted on arrival at the winery. 60%
of the grapes underwent semi-carbonic traditional maceration in stainless steel vats for 5 - 6 days, whilst the remaining 40% were
destemmed and enjoyed a cold pre-fermentation maceration in vats followed by a 15 day ferment. The new wine was aged for 7 - 8
months in traditional vats. Bottled July 2011. Winemaker Philippe Prost. Alc 12.7%, pH 3.33, RS 1.5g/l. Special Offer: Save 20%, £10.99 -
£8.79 from 07/12/11 to 03/01/12. Waitrose Wine Direct and 263 branches.
Cherry nose, but not overtly fruity. Lovely feel. Dry, certainly, but with a good balance of fruit.
