100% Montepulciano from Vasto, in the southern part of Abruzzo, planted on light, sandy loam soils overlooking the Adriatic Sea, 230m above
sea level. The vines are 16 - 31 years old and vertically trellised or pergola trained. Grapes were hand-picked at 10 - 13 tons/ha in late-Oct. After
destemming they were fermented at 28 - 32°C for 8 days in stainless steel tanks with pumpovers and délestage to extract colour and structure.
Induced malolactic in tank and 20% of final blend matured in American oak barrels for 6 months. Winemaker Gaetane Carron. Bentonite fined

Nice, woody nose. Vanilla and dark, ripe fruit. Spicy, oaky, pretty good flavour. Definitely worth £4.79, or more.
