The Pinot Grigio 2009, which is £8.99 in Waitrose, Makro and Nisa, had a ripe, fruity nose and was refreshingly lemony in the mouth – quite tangy. The rest of the panel liked it better than I did, but that may be my antipathy with the grape. Helen called it “gorgeous and quaffable” but she was in an even better than usual good mood.
