Reduced from £16 to £8 in my local Asda.

Has anyone tried this?

Not tried it myself but if I saw a similar offer at my Asda I'd probably clear the shelf
Did you pick up any/many?

Still £16 in my store. I'd pick up the rest of you can dg - you can always return them if it's not to your taste

Indeed, I looked it up, IWC awarded this a silver. Nice find

If the wine is the lighter perfumed style, and the heat is under the cloak of a deep and fruity flavour, I'd be very tempted at this time of year, and at that real 50% off discounted price. This is a local clearance offer. Yes, I'd take 4 or so. I don't have any in stock.

It probably drinks better now than when the IWC judges had a go.

Gave a different Asda store a try but they didn't have any of the Amorone on the shelves or labelled anywhere
Thankfully the trip wasn't entitely in vain as they had 6 bottles of Jacobs Creek reserve riesling 2012 that I snaffled

Tried a bottle at the weekend.
On opening it appears to be fully mature - did not improve over 2 days.
The overall impression was of a mature and very smooth wine. Flavour was rounded with a chocolate backdrop. A slight bitter taste at the end, characteristic of Amarone.

Very good value at £8 - have hoovered up the remaining 4 bottles at Asda. If I had paid £16 I would have been slightly disappointed.
