Grape variety: 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon.
Region: Gimblett Gravels Winegrowing District, Hawkes Bay.
Viticulture/Vinification: A single vineyard wine made with grapes grown in the stony soils of Craggy Range. The 2005 vintage was a classical vintage in Hawkes Bay and on average 69 hectolitres have been harvested per hectare. Fermentation took place in stainless steel tanks, and afterwards the wine was aged for 19 months in 55% new French oak barrels.

Very stinky, in a blown fruit way. Not promising. It’s really hot in the mouth and without fruit or much interest. How odd.
