This wine was being cleared out of the Tesco fine wine range about 15 months ago. At £18 it was too expensive and not ready anyway. At the clearance price £12 definitely worth a punt.

It is now ready, so if you scored some and were waiting, this is the time to open. Now until late 11. I found the wine rather good before supper and enjoyed it with another Burgundy lover.

It is not overly sturdy, tannic or oaky or subject to a whopping measure of brett as described on cellar tracker. http://www.cellartracker.com/wine.asp?iWine=684464 Screamin Eagle gets some of it right, but has a rather sensitive palate to pinot noir from these villages in less unctuous sectors of the Cote d'Or.

Nice Santenay actually, satisfying, plenty of character and a snip when on clearance.

Indeed, I was pleased with it :)
