In 499 stores
Very ripe and floral nose, when tasted straight after a Chilean. Sweet, ripe fruit with juicy acidity. Really mouth-watering. Good.

There is a downside to m/cycles...that being the transport of wine. Grabbed a Satyr and one of these (thinking it was '09).
Very herby and, whilst not my ideal MSB, soft and pleasant. On its way out though, probably why it's on offer. Vavasour connections, so where is the '09.

The Reach 09 sb/ pinot noir rose is no longer sold by Tesco and they haven't as yet put out the 09 sb.

Looks like Vavasour got fed up with Tesco demanding that they keep paying for the promotions. The wine never made it onto Vavasour's website so i'm guessing it was a Tesco exclusive and has now gorne.

It is a deceased wine.

Did you taste that Touraine I was banging on about

Yeah and I was trying to get it online way back in December 2008 and twice the blighters sent me the new release, the '08 vintage from the warehouse that I didn't favour, even though the web site said Reach 2007.

I returned one lot cos I was pi**ed off.

Duh ! That must have been in the Store stockroom for months. If in cold store though.......It is A Good Deal for immediate consumption over the next 2 months.

The Reach '07 for 5-6 quid is a hard one to beat. It is good to see that Mel knows her MSB

GK - how much was that Reach 07 ?

Couldn't find any at the time, and can't find any now. Also "greyed-out" on the website.
Will endure.

Saw in Co-op last night the had a 2009 Calvet Sauvignon Blanc in an almost identical bottle going for ~$5.50. Dunno how similar it'd be as I didn't look at the details on the label

I'm very jealous of those holidaying now. We did so earlier in the summer, when the weather was good here and now we are stuck here in this.

Plus, we have had this naff weather for nearly a month longer than you lot darn sarth. This is the third summer in a row where July and August have been washouts.

We've had a few days of sun, but nowhere near enough (again). Rained on this lot as well. This one about to go over my house, as did the Red Arrow pair and frightened me to death.

Just seven nights, Praia da Luz, have been a couple of times already, great spot, can recommend, some really nice places to eat and chill.

We stay here, book through either T-Cook or Mark Warner (or direct), self-catering is the way to go, theres so many great places to eat and drink in the village.

Excellent stuff:

Local dishes like Caldeirada (fish stew), Cataplana (pork and clams stewed in a wok), Espetadas (skewered meat) and Arroz de Polvo (octopus pieces in onions and tomatoes) are always worth a try.

Please inform us, and particularly Ba  what the best whites are when enjoying Polvo (polpo in Greece), tomatoe and onion casserole - Sounds brilliant

Enjoy you break-away

Seabass with spicy glass noodles at The Lime Tree in the village, they did a lovely house white for only 11euros a bottle, cant remember what is was though... Hope they still do!

There's also an excellent Sth African restaurant called The Dolphin, great fish dishes (not dolphin  ).
