100% Pinot Noir. Picked by hand in small 25 Kg boxes. Thanks to a vibrating table followed by a sorting table, all grapes are sorted, destemmed and transported into the wine vats by conveyor belt. The wine is produced from the upper Sancerre vineyard, the most famous of which is the Domaine La Moussière. Domaine de la Moussière comprises one single vineyard of over thirty hectares. It is an ideally exposed location on the south-western tip of Sancerre, its chalk soil and its specific sub-soil are all perfect conditions for the cultivation of the vine. Fermented in 60 hl truncated wooden vats. Winemaker ~ Alphonse Mellot.
Little aroma. Mineral, but no fruit. Tangy, refreshing and I wouldn't know it was rose, if I were blindfolded. Very lemony acidity on the finish.
New vintage, available now, 88 stores, exclusive, cork 13.0%
