100% Roussanne from Paarl. Harvested mid - end of February 2009, hand-picked in the cool, early morning and fermented at 16ÂșC in stainless steel. A small portion was matured in small oak barrels for a short period to enhance complexity and texture to the mid-palate. The wine is matured on fine lees for six months to enhance the texture. Winemaker ~ Niel Groenewald.
Some spice on the nose, but not a very forward aroma. Warm, spicy and rustic. Ripe and, can I say it again, spicy. Good.
