80% Chardonnay, 20% Pinot Noir from Premier Cru villages: Vertus, Trepail, Avize, Chouilly, Le Mesnil sur Oger for the Chardonnay, Mareuil sur Ay, Cumieres, Bouzy, Ambonnay, Verzy, Verzenay, Ludes for the Pinot Noir. These crus are in the Côte des Blancs, Grande Montagne de Reims and Grande Vallée de la Marne. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in stainless steel vats at 16-20°C. The wine is left on its lees for 4 years in the cellars where the temperature stays at around 10 - 11°C. Winemaker ~ Sandrine Logette-Jardin at Duval Leroy. IWSC 2009 - Silver, IWC 2009 - Bronze, DWWA 2009 - Bronze. Ripe and appealing nose. Savoury flavour, plenty of texture. Quite an acidic finish.
