Winemaker ~ Bertrand Cherel at Union des Viticulteurs de Chablis.
A hint of reduction on the nose. Very, very full flavoured. Juicy acidity and vibrant fruit. Good balance, good length. Good.

This Tesco Finest Chablis 2007 1er is also the same producer, and the wine is as descibed by Mel. I bought mine last week online. This wine is very very full at Cellar temperature, a lovely juicy and leesy chardonnay. Too full and ripe for some picky chablis types, yet despite this fullness, the minerality comes through loud and clear - pucker 1er style
The Wine Gang (working out their tasting date for the '07) gave this wine a thumbs-up 92, and I was surprised by how nice the wine was for a tenner. I'd give it just a couple more years, when stored correctly, because it is not in the least fragile.
Powerfull enough for a dinner party. Do not serve too chilled though, otherwise you miss the point of a ready Chablis 1er with legs.
