Winemaker and winery: Pietro Ratti. Grape variety: 100% Nebbiolo. Region: Langhe, Piedmont. Viticulture/Vinification: Vines are grown on poor sandy soils on south/south-west facing slopes. Grapes are destemmed and crushed. Temperature controlled fermentation takes place at 30ºC with an average maceration of five days. The wine was aged in oak for one year, partly in Slovenian barrels, and partly in French barriques. Dark syrupy aroma. Pruney, baked fruit taste, with plain chocolate tannins. Not bad. 14% major stores. 02/04/09
