Grape variety: 100% Barbera.
Region: South Eastern Piedmont, Nizza Montferrato to Agliano.
Viticulture/Vinification: The Barbera vines are 15 – 20 years old and have been trellised vertically. Fermentation takes place over eight days in temperature controlled tanks with daily pumping over and delestage. Malolactic fermentation takes place in barrel.
Quite an earthy, spicy nose. Nice balance of flavours but the alcohol is punishingly hot. 14% – 150 stores. 02/04/09
