Winemaker and winery: Giovanni Marchisio, Umberto Fiore. Grape variety: 100% Nebbiolo. Region: Barbaresco, Piedmont. Viticulture/Vinification: The Mediterranean climate is tempered by the proximity of the vineyards to the Alps helping to keep them cool at night. Nebbiolo, from the word Nebbia, refers to the mist, which descends on the Langhe hills when the grapes are ready for harvest. This wine has been aged in oak for two years.
Lovely aroma – almost animal. Brick red, with gentle tannin and leathery flavours. 13.50% – 150 stores. 02/04/09
