Winemaker and winery: Jesús Madrazo, Contino.
Grape Variety: 85% Tempranillo, 10% Graciano and 5% Mazuelo.
Region: Alavesa, Rioja.
Viticulture/Vinification: The grapes are grown on a single-vineyard estate, which lies in the River Ebro valley. The wine has been matured in both French and American oak for 24 months and further aged in bottle for one year prior to release.
Quite a figgy smell and less overtly oaky than Rioja Reserva often is. Nicely spicy and fruity but the alcohol, she burns.
