Winemaker and winery: Guillermo de la Vega Ortiz.
Grape variety: 38% Tempranillo, 35% Garnacha and 27% Graciano.
Region: Rioja, Navarra.
Viticulture/Vinification: Grapes are grown according to organic practices, without the use of artificial chemicals and pesticides and machine harvested during late September. Grapes are vinified separately in stainless steel tanks at 25°C for 20 days including pumping over twice a day. Aged in American oak barrels for six months then stabilised and filtered prior to bottling.
Atypical nose. Like over ripe plums in a warm fruit bowl. Rough tannin, warm alcohol, dark flavours. Not my style of Rioja at all.
