Region: Nelson, New Zealand.
Viticulture/Vinification: The Seifried Rabbit Island vineyard is situated on a wide river flat and the soil is made up of a gravelly, sandy loam. Due to the close proximity to the coastline (just 1.5km) the water table is relatively high, ensuring adequate underground water as well as moderate temperatures. Grapes are destemmed and pressed immediately after harvest and a cool fermentation is initiated in stainless steel tanks.
Quite a phenolic, twiggy aroma. Sweet green fruit and typical NZ SB flavours. 13% 02/04/09
