100% Syrah. The Syrah is from the Gimblett Gravels sub-region of Hawkes Bay where the well-drained gravel soil produces exceptional red wines. The wine is aged in French oak barriques for six months. Winemaker ~ Tony Bish from Sacred Hill, a family-owned winery based in Hawkes Bay since 1986.
"Orange, matt label. Pretty dark colour. Ripe and tropical nose. Nicely balanced. Good fruit, and absolutely fine. Can't get excited, but it does the job well and looks good.
New, available 25th October, 220 stores, exclusive, screw cap" 13.5%

I know nothing about these new world syrah's. 2007 was 4 stars in Hawkes Bay for volume, or What........BUT

a) The 2007, Is it ready ?
b) How old are those NZ syrah vines, 10 yrs max possibly
c) Costs as much as some old vine Vacquera's when you search arround - Will it go somewhere.
d) No oak there, so, what about some extra dimension ?
