100% Shiraz from vineyards in the Barossa and Eden Valleys. Eden Valley vines grown on red clay loams, Barossa Valley on shallow sandy loams. Vines are 80-100 years old, and are cane pruned with low fertiliser inputs and partial irrigation. Hand-harvested starting in mid-March and lasting 4 weeks. Fermented in a stainless steel static fermenter, for 8-10 days, at a temp of 20-24°C. No maceration or lees ageing, full malolactic fermentation. Aged in medium-plus toasted French and American barriques and hogsheads for 20 months. Bottle aged for 16-20 months and released in July '08. Winemaker Stuart Blackwell. Suitable for vegetarians and vegans.

Lovely fresh, fruity aroma – lively and invigorating. Rich and full-bodied flavour. Quite Viscous, Sweet, fruity and dark with a baked, spicy finish. Delicious. Alc 14.5%, TA 7.1g/l, pH 3.53, RS 0.43g/l. Available from Wine Direct and 1 branch.
