75% Shiraz, 20% Grenache, 5% Touriga. Grenache comes from old bush vines -up to 35 years old planted on red-brown loam over shale soils. Vines are 10-80 years old, and are irrigated. Machine-harvested, starting on Jan 25th and lasting for 7 weeks. Fermentation was in stainless steel for 6-8 days, with no maceration, but a partial lees ageing and malolatic fermentation. No oak ageing, bottled in Nov 2005 , then aged for 1-2 months before release. Winemakers Matt Gant, Jeremy Ottawa and Shelley Cox. Suitable for vegetarians and vegans.

Very little on the nose. Lightweight cherry juice – not great at all. Definitely lunchtime wine, except for the 14.5%. Alc 14.5%, TA 6.6g/l, pH 3.42, RS 0.53g/l. Available from Wine Direct and 192 branches.
