100% Pinot Noir from vineyards located on the Northern side of the Wairau Valley close to the Wairau river. The grapes were harvested from late March to mid April 2005 . After harvest, the grapes were destemmed then cold soaked for 5-7 days prior to fermentation. Fermentation was carried out in a combination of open top and closed top fermenters with a mixture of wild and cultured yeast strains. The wine was drained off skins at the end of fermentation to barrel, then underwent malolactic fermentation. Matured in barrels of varying ages. Winemaker Jamie Marfell.
