The grapes are destemmed and fermented, and then macerated for 15 to 20 days at a controlled temperature of 25° to 30°C. Frequent pumping-over (1 to 2 times per day) guarantees the best expression from this grape variety.Cement enhances the fruit. The wine is then gently fined and bottled, followed by further bottle-aging prior to release.

Gerard Bertrand is a former rugby star turned wine maker. Since turning his considerable energy to wine-making he has focussed on creating high quality Languedoc-Roussillon wines and building the image of this region with consumers. This wine is born following a growing demand on Shiraz-Grenache blend. It is selected from the south-facing slopes around the villages of St. André, Bizanet and Ornaisons in the Pays d'Oc. Gérard Bertrand is convinced of the uniqueness of the different Terroirs of the Languedoc. Each varietal is sourced from the best suited vineyard, where the grape truly expresses its character.

Dark, ripe fruit on the nose. Quite fierce tannin - young and dark. Don't love it.
