Like snapped elder twigs. The taste really wakes you up. Zingy and alive, with a touch of fizz and a load of acidity. Slaps you in the face, in a good way.

2 for a tenner offer at the mo'. All sorts going on in here, steely dry underneath, smoke, herbs and xmas dates in the middle and "drink-me-now" overlaying it all. I gather that there is a slug of Semillon in this, which will account (arghhh) for some of the complexity.

Mel/B is this the 1685 Grand Cuvee?

Six bottles for £28.50? Might be tempted.
