Made for Tesco by Highfield Estate. 20% barrel fermented and aged 3 months; remainder of the blend undergoes extended contact on yeast lees in tank. The Finest Marlborough wines are the result of an ongoing collaboration between Tesco and Highfield Estate. Highfield is a small, boutique oriented producer situated at the convergence of the Wairau and Omaka valleys. The wines are handmade by a small team of winemakers (Alistair, Mike and Jeremy) and are crafted to respect a sense of “place”. We source from a number of different sub-regions within Marlborough and aim to blend complexity into the wine by blending vineyards with different characteristics - pungent, sweaty aromas from the Dillon's Point area, tropical aromas from the stony soils of the Wairau Valley and classic herbaceous characters from the Southern Valleys (Brancott, Omaka and Fairhall).

Heavy bottle - not sure why. Green, blanched asparagus smell. Just off dry, with sweet fruit and a long taste. 13%
